What happens if I’m the only person in my division?

If you are the only competitor registered in your division, Savage Grappling will look at the available divisions and, where it is considered safe and appropriate, you may be merged with another division based on factors such as age, weight, rank and experience.

If we are unable to find a suitable and safe division for you to compete in, you will be offered a full refund.

What happens if my child is the only person in their division?

For kids divisions, we will always prioritise safety and appropriate match-ups.

Where we feel it is safe and suitable to do so, your child may be merged into another division based on:

  • Age

  • Weight

  • Rank / belt level

  • Experience and skill level

All merges are assessed by the Savage Grappling team with the safety and wellbeing of the competitors as our highest priority.

We are happy to discuss the merge with you and, where possible, work with you to find a suitable alternative.

If we cannot reach an arrangement that you are comfortable with, we are happy to offer a full refund of your entry fee.

Can I request that my child is not merged?

Yes. We understand that parents and guardians may have concerns about a proposed merge.

Our aim is always to find a suitable and safe solution wherever possible.

How are divisions merged?

Savage Grappling considers several factors when determining whether divisions can be safely combined, including:

  • Age

  • Weight

  • Rank / belt level

  • Number of competitors

Safety always comes first. We will not merge divisions where we believe the match-up is not appropriate.

How do I cancel my registration and get a refund?

If you need to cancel your registration, you can follow the cancellation instructions provided by Smoothcomp.
